At Rescript, we’re really enjoying basking in the end of year celebrations. With Christmas and New Year just around the corner, we’re happy to look back at a year of discoveries and learning. It also makes us feel good to look back at the warm reception we’ve received for our products. We were delighted to see the openness with which people are starting to view sustainability products and how easily they’re making the shift - our biggest learning might be that people were not making sustainable stationery choices earlier simply because they were unaware of their options - but that’s a topic for a different blog post.

Pens
The ubiquitous pen is a piece of stationery that everyone owns. Factories typically churn out millions of ballpoint pens every single day. By now, you know that all this plastic eventually makes its way back into the environment causing pollution and long term harm. Rescript Pens are 95% plastic-free and made from 100% recycled materials - they are manufactured from materials that would have eventually found its way into a landfill or garbage dump.

Pencils
Each year, over 2 billion wooden pencils are manufactured by cutting down over 82,000 trees. While that roughly translates to 170000 pencils per tree, we have to admit that wooden pencils are popular, and this is because they are extremely easy to manufacture. We came up with an alternative process to manufacture pencils and minimize their environmental impact. Rescript pencils are made from 100% recycled newspaper, ensuring that paper that was marked to be discarded can be repurposed to create pencils. Personally, we are really proud to be able to manufacture pencils out of recycled paper and not wood.

Notebooks
Who doesn’t love owning a fresh smelling, good looking notebook?
